Hi,
recently I've tried to find some group without any success. Oddly enough, I couldn't even find my own group using the group search. Browsing the list of groups is 'frustrating'. Is it possible to sort the list of groups in alphabetical order? It would be than feasible to search by browsing. Filtering by the first letter would further improve the experience. another question - is it possible to search for existing users? I mean either on 'Neighbours' or on 'Invite a friend' could be a search option for people...

The group search won't find your group because it's a private group. You can get to your private groups with the "Groups" entry on the "My CiteULike" drop-down menu. I'll add a user search to my lengthening To-Do list...

I do know how to find my group. I just tried to sort of 'test' the group search since I couldn't find another one... Now the problem - I've been invited to some group. I got an email with an invitation and a link to sign up. Since I have an account, obviously I can't sign up, I have to sign in. When I am signing in, I can't find neither the inviting group, nor the inviting user. Probably that group is also private... Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance, Victor Salit

You don't have any invitations to join private groups. If you had any, they would be shown on this page:
I think you may have uncovered a subtle problem with "Invite a friend". I'll investigate. If you forward me the email you were sent (to support at citeulike dot org), I'll see what I can do.

The email is sent.
Reading it one more time I've noticed the user page of the inviting person which I have overlooked at first. The groups tab of that user shows zero groups. So if the group wasn't created - it explanes why I couldn't find it. But the invitation says "When you register, you will be invited to join 1 groups... " and even provides the group name...

No, the group's there - it can't be sen because it's private. Private groups don't show up in searches, and you can't see them in peoples' list of groups. You should now have an invitation to join the private group referred to in the email. I will fix the problem with the 'Invite a Friend' feature later today.

Thanks a lot, everything's fine now.
The user search and the alphabetic sorting would be still nice to have.
